Welcome to Shie Research Group 

Our group primarily focuses on organic synthesis and chemical biology. We develop new chemical bioconjugation methods and novel fluorescent smart probes for profiling post-translational modifications (PTMs) in proteins, thereby advancing molecular bioimaging. Specifically, we investigate glycosylation and citrullination to better understand biological processes and facilitate the development of new therapies. Additionally, we are dedicated to creating advanced synthesis strategies for producing glycoconjugates of biomedical significance and small-molecule inhibitors targeting infectious diseases, cancer, and neurological disorders. A particular emphasis is placed on theranostic proteolysis-targeting chimeras (PROTACs) therapy. Our interdisciplinary research aims to advance critical knowledge in chemical biology by providing unique chemical tools that enhance the understanding of cellular recognition processes.
